100. Beastie Boys (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party)
99. Metallica One (why the short version?)
98. John Mellencamp Jack and Diane
97. Bon Jovi It's My Life (not their best)
96. ZZ Top Legs
95. Mariah Carey Honey (so it's an expensive video, so what? Love Takes Time is better...)
94. U2 Where the Streets Have No Name (how about One instead?)
93. USA for Africa We Are the World
92. Creed With Arms Wide Open
91. Blondie Rapture
90. Britney Spears Baby One More Time (what's so great about this? if you want Britney, put in Sometimes or Oops! I Did It Again, or Lucky)
89. Paula Abdul Opposites Attract (how about Rush Rush?)
88. INXS Need You Tonight/Mediate (Augh! They cut the Mediate part off!!)
87. Salt 'n' Pepa/En Vogue Whatta Man (what's so special about this clip? how about Queen Latifah's U.N.I.T.Y. ?)
86. Culture Club Do You Really Want to Hurt Me (thank you for playing this and not Karma Chamelon!)
85. Ricky Martin Livin' La Vida Loca (yeah, yeah, this song made him a star, but a great video? I don't think so, Tim)
84. Madonna Borderline (why not Papa Don't Preach?)
83. Blind Melon No Rain (they cut off the bee girl at the beginning doing the tapdance!)
82. Talking Heads Burning Down the House
81. Prince 1999 (great song, nothing special about the video)
80. Dr. Dre Nothin' but a 'G' Thang (kudos for showing rap on VH1... and they showed the complete version of this, with the intro MTV never shows...??)
79. The Buggles Video Killed the Radio Star (this should be a lot higher, and would be if they were a big success, and not just known for being the first artist to have their video shown on MTV)
78. Fatboy Slim Praise You (you got your "I can't believe this video looks so cheap, but it's kinda cool" video at #57 with Loser)
77. Shania Twain That Don't Impress Me Much (I don't know country music very well, but if they have to include one country song, I know there are better videos than this...)
76. The Cars You Might Think (they cut the ending)
75. Bruce Springsteen Dancing in the Dark (yeah, it's classic, but what's special about it? Courtney Cox?)
74. Lauryn Hill Doo Wop (That Thing)
73. Pat Benatar Love Is a Battlefield
72. Janet Jackson Love Will Never Do (Without You) (how about Alright, If, or Again?)
71. Sir Mix-a-Lot Baby Got Back (haven't seen this in forever, since MTV moved it to after hours, then "banned" it)
70. Devo Whip It
69. Red Hot Chili Peppers Give It Away (uh uh, Under the Bridge)
68. Eurythmics Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
67. Brian McKnight Back at One (okay videos with death themes... how about Toni Braxton's Un-Break My Heart, Aaron Hall's I Miss U, or Bone-Thugs-n-Harmony's Tha Crossroads?)
66. Alanis Morissette Thank U (ooh, Alanis is naked... so what... why not Head Over Feet?)
65. Talking Heads Once in a Lifetime
64. Faith No More Epic (kudos for remembering this video too, very strange, very cool)
63. Fiona Apple Criminal (she still gives me the willies)
62. Genesis Land of Confusion (they cut the beginning and end off... Morons!)
61. Madonna Like a Virgin (sound is bad for the first 30 seconds or so)
60. Duran Duran Rio
59. MC Hammer U Can't Touch This (ok, this song was "THE jam" and homeboy can dance, but what's so great about it?)
58. Guns N' Roses Welcome to the Jungle
57. Beck Loser (see number 78)
56. Sinead O'Connor Nothing Compares 2 U
55. Billy Idol White Wedding
54. Madonna Material Girl
53. Don Henley Boys of Summer (no! End of the Innocence)
52. Lenny Kravitz Are You Gonna Go My Way (this song rocks, but a great video? Nah...)
51. Van Halen Hot for Teacher (they cut the whole Waldo thing at the beginning!!!)
50. Bjork It's Oh So Quiet (as long as they don't pick Human Behaviour, that teddy bear thing still gives me nightmares)
49. Cher Turn Back Time (Bleah! Did you know her son's in this video, playing the guitar? She bumps him with her butt... Ugh!)
48. Aerosmith Janie's Got a Gun
47. Jane's Addiction Been Caught Stealing (Arf Arf Arf Arf Arf Arf!)
46. Twisted Sister We're Not Gonna Take It (without the opening, it doesn't have the same impact)
45. Cyndi Lauper Girls Just Want to Have Fun (a "fun" video, no pun intended, but Time After Time was better)
44. D'Angelo Untitled (okay so we have Alanis M. naked at #66, now we have a naked guy here... so he's a little buff... this video stinks...)
43. Tom Petty Don't Come Around Here No More (excellent, except they cut the part where Alice screams, and she's in Tom's mouth, and he burps... Where's Free Fallin', and Mary Jane's Last Dance?)
42. DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince Parents Just Don't Understand
41. David Lee Roth California Girls (they cut the Twilight Zone type narration at the beginning and end!
40. Madonna Ray of Light (trying to show Madonna's still cool? it's ok, but if you want a video with lots of edits, how about Wang Chung's Everybody Have Fun Tonight?)
39. Godley & Creme Cry
38. Michael Jackson Black or White (ok, they only showed the short version, and Godley and Creme (see above #39), did the morph thing first, before computer-aided special effects helped MJ)
37. Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation
36. Billy Joel We Didn't Start the Fire
35. Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication
34. Michael Jackson Billie Jean
33. The Police Every Breath You Take (how about Wrapped Around Your Finger as well?)
32. Metallica Enter Sandman (still gets me when the kid is asleep and the big rig is bearing down on him)
31. Duran Duran Hungry Like the Wolf
30. Robert Palmer Addicted to Love (nah, like Simply Irresistble better, but neither is a "great" video)
29. Smashing Pumpkins Tonight, Tonight (okay, so it's artsy... the only Punkins song I like is "Eye", and there is no video for that... Replace this with Queensryche's Silent Lucidity)
28. Bob Dylan Subterranean Homesick Blues (ok, one of only 2 or 3 videos made before the "MTV" era on this countdown... he obviously inspired INXS, (see #78)
27. Weezer Buddy Holly (excellent, this song is a little harder than the Happy Daysish setting, but it works... )
26. TLC Waterfalls (hmmm, good video, but Coolio's "Too Hot" gets overlooked everytime... Same topic... speaking of Coolio, where's Gangsta's Paradise on this list?)
25. Dire Straits Money for Nothing
24. Van Halen Jump (this song came out when I was in second grade... One assignment I had was to write about the one person I wished I could be... my best friend wrote, "I want to be Eddie Van Halen, because he can jump off a bulding and not get hurt.")
23. Aerosmith Crazy (sure Alicia and Liv are nice to look at, but Cryin' is a better song, and Amazing is a better video)
22. Korn Freak on a Leash (ok, if you show this then where is Radiohead?)
21. Michael Jackson Beat It
20. Foo Fighters Learn to Fly (nah, Big Me is better)
19. R.E.M. Losing My Religion (great band, great video, where's Stand, Pop Song 89, Everybody Hurts, or What's The Frequency, Kenneth?)
18. Alanis Morissette Ironic
17. Prince When Doves Cry
16. Beastie Boys Sabotage
15. Queen Bohemian Rhapsody (boo, they showed the Wayne's World version..)
14. Jamiroquai Virtual Insanity (ok you want to show a "how'd they do that" clip? how about Lucas's "Lucas With The Lid Off"?
13. Chris Isaak Wicked Game
12. George Michael Freedom 90
11. Run-D.M.C./Aerosmith Walk This Way
10. Herbie Hancock Rockit (it was weird then and it's still weird, but I challenge you to watch and not hum or sing along, or dance, or tap your fingers or something)
9. Michael/Janet Jackson Scream (the expensive short-film music video of all time, and a pairing of two of pop music's best...not a "great" video though... you want another MJ song? Add Smooth Criminal somewhere in the halfway of the list... I like the part where all the guys lean to one side and back, and no one falls)
8. a-ha Take On Me
7. Madonna Justify My Love (they add this to the list, even though MTV and VH1 have never played more than a few seconds... then since it's still "banned" they skip over it, without saying beforehand that they are going to do so)
6. Pearl Jam Jeremy (there was a #7 in the corner for awhile, then it changed to a 6, since they skipped Madonna)
5. Guns N' Roses November Rain (this one they showed the last shot, the "based on a short story by" so why did they cut the last shot of other clips?)
4. Nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit
3. Peter Gabriel Sledgehammer (other Peter Gabriel videos that should have made it... Steam, Digging In The Dirt, Shock the Monkey... of course, this was the big hit, so it is the representative)
2. Madonna Like a Prayer
1. Michael Jackson Thriller (okay this was a 10 hour countdown, after commercials after #2, this started at approx 9:51 into the countdown... now this video is what 13, 14 minutes long... so it will run over 10 hours by a couple of minutes right? Wrong. Just after Vincent Price's "rap" when the zombies are closing in on MJ and the girl, right before MJ becomes a zombie too, the screen fades to back at 9:59, and up comes a repeat of Behind The Music w/ Duran Duran... bad sound on this too)
Don't even get me started on all the other artists that got overlooked...
